Competa IT's Mandy at ING

After her project at Rovict, it was time for a new project for Mandy. She even had the luxury of choosing between two projects, ultimately choosing ING. Here she ended up in the team working on new features for the website. At ING there are several teams working on new features for the app and website, and their maintenance. In her team of front-enders, scrum lead and the product owner, she worked on coding new features for the website. Here she worked on these three features, among others: Overview forecasting - What will be credited and debited in the coming weeks Insights - Which cost items does your money go to? Categorizing payments - When you do your shopping at a supermarket, they are marked as groceries In addition to working on these new features, error processing and fixes, she also worked on implementing certain features. These ensure that the user can leave a review during an experiment. For this project, Mandy worked with the Lit framework for the first time, which ultimately worked well for her. Knowledge of new techs means more knowledge and understanding of code, making it easier to switch between different tech stacks. Chai was used for testing, which provides a good basis for this, where Storybook is also very useful in showing all kinds of modules. This way you can write neater tests that are much cleaner and clearer. Mandy was very pleased with ING's focus on the accessibility of its products. Every month she received several training courses on this subject that were also tested. It is important that the user understands what it says and what the consequences are of his actions. Is it clearly understandable? Is it clear what happened? Does a user know it's a transfer on their behalf? Is the balance shown on the credit card or the debit card? Just as alternative text is added to components and HTML text, which also makes the use of the app or website accessible to someone with visual impairment or blindness.
