NIPV is working on systems that regulate public safety in the Netherlands. For example, the train derailment in Voorschoten was a major topic within NIPV that received a lot of attention. One of the websites is kindencontacten.nl, which only comes online when there is a major emergency in the Netherlands. This website consists of several parts, with Mandy working on the 'relatives' part. Here, users can report a missing person, after which the authorities will see if they can make connections between the missing person and one of the victims. In addition, Mandy worked on adding an email verification system to the existing system: the Victim Information System (SIS). In this application, users can report a missing person online instead of having to call. Setting up a component library was new to Mandy and this is also one of the things she learned on the project at NIPV. She has also worked on setting up a completely new application where people can register online if they want to report a missing person. This way, they can be called if they find someone who matches the data the user has entered in the app. These two applications fall under the same umbrella project. In the team consisting of a back-ender, tech leads, a product owner, designer and project manager, she was the only front-ender in the team. Mandy thought it was a very interesting project to work on and be part of. She especially liked the purpose of this project and the mission of NIPV. Mandy also worked with new technology such as Zephyr, a program that checks your tests.

Mandy has mainly worked with Angular (different versions), JavaScript (ES6), CSS(3) and HTML(5). She has extensive experience with migrations within Angular, greenfield setups, dashboarding and styling. During the projects that Mandy has done, she has also mainly worked in Scrum teams, at HBO/Academic work and thinking level. Her inquisitiveness and drive to get better also ensure that she is constantly developing her knowledge and skills.
